Bret Ellington L.Ac., Dipl. in Acu
Licensed Acupuncturist, MSTOM, Diplomate of Acupuncture, Holistic Health Practitioner and Chinese Herbalist
A Licensed Acupuncturist, by the state of California, and a Diplomate by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Bret Ellington complemented his expertise in clinical practice with education travel making several trips throughout Southeast Asia. Bret's interest in healing and alleviating suffering started when training as an Emergency Medical Technician and working on a Biology Undergraduate program. He also volunteered one evening a week at the Memorial Hospital Emergency Room, in Colorado Springs, to submerge himself into the health field. Seeing what people did day to day in the hospital, Bret had hoped to find what path to follow, but only found himself getting dismayed with Western Medicine. Soon thereafter, he chose to study the many facets of Chinese Medicine and completed 5 years of training in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, Fire Cupping, Qi Gong, Nutrition, Chinese Body Therapy, Meditation and Tai Chi.
He is nationally licensed as a massage therapist, certified in Oriental Body Therapy as well as being a Holistic Health Practitioner. Having a comprehensive understanding of the muscle tissue enables Bret’s patients to feel more comfortable and get better results quicker. Besides using his healing touch to alleviate pain from patients in several different doctors’ offices, he pampered many clients while working at Spa Gaucin, in the 5 star/5 diamond St Regis Resort in Dana Point, California.
Bret’s natural touch and training have helped him achieve a special expertise in treating acute and chronic pain syndromes. By pursuing continuing education he has expanded his competence in women’s health and infertility. He is fully trained in the Nicotine and Drug Addiction (NADA) protocol and continues to work closely with a number of drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation centers in Orange County, as well as eating disorder programs. Bret extensively treated pain and psychological torture victims in affiliation with Survivors of Torture International in San Diego. That experience enabled him to treat people on an emotional/psychological level as well as a physical level, helping him to allow his patients to connect both body and mind.
